For many years, Born of Botanics called the beautiful city of York home, first beginning life in our tiny Goodramgate shop before later moving to our much-loved 17th century space on Stonegate, just moments from York Minster. York shaped so much of our brand — its history, atmosphere, hidden snickelways and sense of nostalgia all became woven into the heart of what we created.

In May 2026, we made the decision to step away from the city centre and begin a new chapter in the historic market town of Tadcaster.

Steeped in Roman history and best known for its centuries-old brewing heritage, Tadcaster sits peacefully alongside the River Wharfe and offers a slower, more grounded pace of life that immediately felt aligned with the future of Born of Botanics. With its independent spirit, welcoming community and growing appreciation for small creative businesses, it felt like the natural place for us to evolve.

You will now find us at 21 Kirkgate, where our space has become more than simply a shop. Alongside our collection of botanical candles, home fragrance and wellbeing products, the new studio allows us to host workshops, creative evenings and slower, more meaningful experiences centred around scent, creativity and connection.

Moving away from York was never about leaving behind what we loved. Instead, it was about creating space to return to the heart of why Born of Botanics began in the first place — thoughtful products, genuine human connection and a quieter, more intentional way of living and creating
